Operation: Lights On

In 2010, musician and performer of beloved video pranks Rick Astley released a new track called “Lights Out.” The song is about a man who is not ready to turn the lights out on a relationship. At the time, it had nothing to do with a community television show.

Two years later, however, it became the unofficial theme of Geeks With Issues – despite the pressure that caused the Geeks to need to put the program to rest, I’ve always had hope that in some way, when we were ready, the show could return. I imagined a music video, with my picking up an old script and some of the defunct pieces of the Basement Of Dreams set – maybe do a montage of a rebuild. When I first had that image in my mind, with the effort of putting a family together, the time of the Geeks With Issues seemed far off.

16 years later, that time is coming soon. When exactly, I don’t know – but this website will serve as an opportunity to shake the dust off, clean up The Basement Of Dreams, and decide in what form the Geeks will return.

But never fear, True Believers…the Geeks will return. Until then, it’s time for a revised catchphrase: Geek On, Geek Out, and Geek Anywhere – just clean up after yourself.
